Working Groups

The advisory council occasionally creates working groups to address priority issues relating to sanctuary management. Working groups may be composed of members and alternates of the council and persons outside the council. These groups then report back to the full council with recommendations on the issues they have addressed. The public may attend working group meetings. Current working groups include the Research Activity Panel and Conservation Working Group.

Subcommittees

Subcommittees are composed solely of members of the advisory council and can disband once final advice on a particular matter has been submitted to the council. There are no subcommittees and ad hoc working groups of the advisory council at this time. For more information contact Robbin Porter, advisory council coordinator, robbin.porter@noaa.gov.

Ad Hoc Working Groups

Ad hoc working groups are established for specific purposes or topics needing focused attention that cannot be accomplished by a subcommittee. Their work is limited to functional areas and discrete issues relating to individual sanctuaries. There are no subcommittees and ad hoc working groups of the advisory council at this time. For more information contact Robbin Porter, advisory council coordinator, robbin.porter@noaa.gov.
